4 Gifts Your Loved Ones Will Always Remember

It's easy to get lost in your checklist of things to do prior to the holidays. And sometimes we get so busy buying and wrapping presents, we lose sight of the most important gifts. These gifts don’t cost money, but they do require our attention.

Here are four gifts your loved ones will always remember:

It’s been said, “The greatest gift you can give someone is your time. Because when you give your time, you are giving a portion of your life that you will never get back.”  This holiday, try and make an extra effort to give more of your time and attention to those closest to you. You won't regret it and it will be noticed by the ones you love. Few things say “I love you” or “I care” more than giving someone your time and attention.

Inviting friends and family to some of your holiday events is a great way to create memories that will last a lifetime. This holiday, think about someone you care about and invite them over for dinner, conversation, and good old-fashioned company. Think of someone who is alone for the holidays (a widow, divorcee, or someone that is struggling) your gift of friendship and company will mean a great deal. Alternatively, go visit someone who is alone at their place.

Playing games together is a gift!   Whether you're into charades, Monopoly, or other group games, you'll be surprised (maybe even reminded) what a gift laughter can be. Some of our favorite memories in life are the times we spent around a kitchen table or the living room having fun with our loved ones.

Perhaps one of the most underrated gifts we can give each other is saying what needs to be said. A simple, “I’m sorry”  to someone we may have offended is a beautiful gift of reconciliation and connection. Looking someone in the eye and saying, “Thank you.” Saying, “I care about you” or “I love you" is another way to connect with others hearts.

Certainly, there are many other gifts we can give each other that don't cost money and these were just four examples.  As the holidays draw near, consider your own situation in life and think about giving the kinds of gifts that really matter - the kinds you cannot touch or see.

The greatest gifts, it turns out,

don't sit under the tree

and best of all, they’re free.

Warm wishes,

5 Ways to Show Gratitude this Thanksgiving

As Thanksgiving approaches, we can't help but think about everything we're grateful for.  Yet, sometimes it's easy to simply think of the people and things we're grateful for and stop there.

When our team took a moment to think about the very title of the holiday, thanks and giving are two distinct ideas.  Two separate actions - when combined, make for a more meaningful experience.

So, in the spirit of Thanksgiving, we've compiled a list of 5 things we can do to not simply feel gratitude, but show it through some very simple actions.

If you're looking for ways to deepen your connections with family and friends this year, consider trying any or all of these 5 tips.  You won't regret it.  We promise.
